About Ashley Willingham
Hello, dear friend, and welcome to my world of clean, Christian fantasy romance books where the fantasy is epic, the romance is clean, and God is honored in every book. My name is Ashley Willingham and I’m a Christian, wife, mother, the CEO of Willingham Publishing LLC, and an author of faith-filled, no-spice romantasy.
This isn’t just my career—it’s my calling. I write clean fantasy romances filled with God’s truths for women (and men!) who crave exciting stories that won’t compromise their morals. The books we read should feed our spirits, not contaminate them.
“Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.”
– 2 Corinthians 7:1 (NIV)
My Mission: Redeeming the Fantasy Romance Genre
I grew up reading fantasy books, but these days, my favorite genre has become synonymous with the word “smut.” We live in a world that glorifies sin, that rejects God’s truths, and that constantly tries to lead us astray. And this is how I am fighting back. God blessed me with the ability to write and so I will write for His glory and His alone.
I vow to write breathtaking, God-honoring fantasy romances that feed the spirit and shine His light for all the world to see.
I vow to fight the lie that lust equals love and to prove that God’s holiness can be found everywhere, even within the pages of the most fantastical stories.
I vow to represent all body types within my books, including short men, tall women, plus-sized people, and disabled heroes and heroines. We are all God’s children and we are all deserving of epic adventures and unfailing love.
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.“
– 1 Corinthians 10:31 (NIV)
The 7 Values That Guide My Stories
1. Passion with Purpose
I believe that love stories can make us swoon without crossing holy boundaries. My books celebrate romance as God intended: as a sacred covenant between a man and a woman, filled with respect and self-sacrificing love.
2. Imagination as Worship
Every world I build and every word I write is out of reverence to God who invented story itself. Through writing fantasy romance, I strive to reflect His endless creativity and beauty.
3. Redemption through Story
I write to heal what sin and shame have broken—to show that even the darkest hearts can find their way back to the light, and that even the most tainted genres can be made new.
4. Representation as Reverence
Every body, every ability, every height, and every imperfection bears the image of God. I honor His creation by writing heroes and heroines who reflect His perfect design rather than embracing the world’s lies that there is only one type of beauty.
5. Truth over Trend
I stand for the truth that saves, not the lies that sell. I write the books God puts on my heart. I will never compromise my morals for the sake of “good business.”
6. Hope in Every Page
My stories are meant to be lanterns in a dark world—crafted to remind readers that goodness, courage, and Christian love will always prevail in the end.
7. Community over Commerce
Willingham Publishing LLC is a ministry before it is a business. I write, publish, and create to serve hearts, not algorithms. Here is a sanctuary for all weary Christians who crave stories that will baptize their imagination and help them feel closer to God.
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.“
– Matthew 5:16 (NIV)
I pray that you find refuge here. May you find God’s truths within the pages of each of my books and come to discover your own beautiful worthiness.
God Bless,
FAQs
What Age range are your books for?
I write for adults, so while my books are free from sexual content, swearing, and graphic violence, they still deal with heavier themes such as death, suicide, war, the nature of evil, and substance abuse while trying to manage chronic pain. I would say my books are 15 or 16+, though please view the content warnings and decide what’s best for you and your family!
Is there magic in your books?
There is usually fantasy magic present in my books, but no witchcraft (not even the bad guys practice actual witchcraft in my books, though in A War of Crowns, I do call the bad guys “witches”). Check out my books here to see if there is magic present and what sort it is.
